SAG chief fights for his job

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Screen Actors Guild Executive Director Bob Pisano is fighting to keep his job, the Hollywood Reporter said Friday.

The paper said Pisano has hired veteran entertainment industry litigator Bert Fields to represent him in a weekend showdown with a faction of SAG that wants Pisano booted out of office. The faction -- MembershipFirst -- recently won enough seats on the national board to possibly get its wish, and could jettison Pisano during the board's two-day meeting that began Friday.

Pisano was just given a three-year contract extension in January.

"I look forward to the opportunity to present the state-of-the-guild report to the national board, including an overview of the progress we have made in the three years since I've been here," Pisano told The Reporter.
