DETROIT, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Former Doobie Brother Michael McDonald is looking for a second-time Motown charm.

McDonald's 2002 covers album "Motown" was a platinum, Grammy-nominated smash. Now he's hoping to replicate that achievement with his new sequel, "Motown Two."

"I think the success of the first one really comes from the fact we were focusing on the material and on the celebration of what we believed to be one of the greatest musical eras in this country," McDonald said. "We tried to keep our eyes on that on the second one and not really second-guess or presume its success."

"Motown Two" features covers of songs by Marvin Gaye, the Four Tops, the Miracles and other Motown artists. Stevie Wonder plays harmonica on McDonald's version of his "I Was Made to Love Her," while Toni Braxton duets on the Stylistics' "Stop, Look and Listen (To Your Heart)," which was also recorded as a duet by Gaye and Diana Ross.
