LONDON, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Michael Caine's plan to increase low ratings on Britain's long-running soap "EastEnders" reportedly is to add Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow to the cast.
"I'd get Gwyneth to go out with all the British guys in the show -- something controversial. She does a wonderful English accent. She does upper crust superbly. Get Gwyneth in the middle, so to speak," Caine said in Monday's edition of Britain's Sun.
Caine, 71, said he is a fan of the show, which has hit its lowest ratings in its 19-year history.
"If I was in a situation where I was looking for work in British TV, 'EastEnders' would be the one that would interest me," the Oscar winner said.
Caine currently is filming "Bewitched" with Nicole Kidman and Shirley MacClaine.
