Reynolds, Nelson in 'Dukes' talks

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Burt Reynolds and Willie Nelson are in talks to join the cast of the movie version of the TV hit "The Dukes of Hazzard," The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.

Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott and Jessica Simpson are already set to star in the as Luke, Bo and Daisy Duke, respectively. Reynolds would play Boss Hogg, the comically corrupt small town politician played in the TV series by Sorrell Brooke. Nelson would play Uncle Jessie, played on TV by Denver Pyle.

The movie adaptation is being directed by Jay Chandrasekhar of the comedy troupe Broken Lizard, which is also collaborating with John O'Brien ("Starsky & Hutch") on the screenplay.
