LONDON, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Stars Jude Law and Sienna Miller were among the celebrities attending the world premiere in London of the remake of Michael Caine's 1966 film, "Alfie."

Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger and Eurythmics' Dave Stewart, who wrote the movie's soundtrack, joined the film's stars on the red carpet Thursday at Leicester Square, BBC reported Friday.

Law stars in the title role, with Miller, the actor's off-screen love interest, playing a character seduced by Alfie.

"I'm very proud of it and I just hope other people enjoy seeing it as much as I did making it. We were very true, I hope, to Alfie's opinions, his philosophies but what we had to alter was the world around him. The women in that world have changed more than men in the last 40 years," Law said.

The film, also starring Susan Sarandon and Marisa Tomei, moved its setting from London to New York.

"Alfie" opens Oct. 22 throughout Britain and Nov. 5 in the United States.
