HOLLYWOOD, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- ABC "Monday Night Football" star Al Michaels Thursday got a star of his own on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Michaels has been with Monday Night Football for the past 19-years, KABC-TV, Los Angeles reported.

He joined ABC Sports in 1976 and has logged nearly 2,000 hours on air with the network, more than half of them on "Monday Night Football." He has also broadcast five Super Bowls for ABC Sports.

During the ceremony Thursday, Michaels said, "It is kind of amazing to stand up here even though I grew up in New York ... So I have gone from almost getting arrested to in effect being laid to rest ..."

Michael's star is No. 2,266 and is located in front of the historic "Musso and Frank" grill.
