Tatum O'Neal names names in autobiography

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Tatum O'Neal blamed her drug-addicted dad and his girlfriends, including Melanie Griffith, for her woes in the "Paper Moon" star's tell-all autobiography.

The celebrity offspring's book, "A Paper Life," which hit the shelves Tuesday, is a 285-page expose naming names and spilling secrets of the Oscar winner's Hollywood childhood, the New York Daily News reported.

O'Neal, 40, credits Griffith for dragging the then-12-year-old to a drug-infested orgy and blames her dad for physical and emotional scars leading to her heroin addiction that cost her custody of her three kids with tennis star John McEnroe.

Michael Jackson even gets a mention in the book as an awkward teen trying to make out with O'Neal, who was 12 at the time.

"Michael, who was sweating profusely, seemed as intimidated as I was. He jumped up nervously and said, 'Uh ... gotta go,'" the actress said in the book.

O'Neal launched her book tour Tuesday with an "Oprah" interview and is scheduled to appear Thursday on NBC's "Today" show.
