LOS ANGELES, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Sometimes big-name stars who want a role on "The Sopranos" ask Oscar-winner Christopher Walken for help, Zap2it.com reported.
"It's amazing how many actors say to me, 'Put in a word for me, I would like to do it.' And I mean big names," said Walken, who is married to the hit HBO show's casting director, Georgianne. "You'd be surprised how many people want to be in that show."
Walken almost appeared as Dr. Melfi's (Lorraine Bracco) therapist, but had to drop out at the last minute. The role instead went to director Peter Bogdanovich.
With just one season left, Walken says he may still be on the series about New Jersey mobsters.
"It's a terrific show," he said. "And yes, there is still a possibility I may get on it."
