LOS ANGELES, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Ben Kingsley will join the cast of the upcoming gangster drama "Lucky Number Sleven," Daily Variety said Monday.
The paper said the Oscar-winning star of "Ghandi" and "House of Sand and Fog" will play the head of New York's biggest crime syndicate. Josh Hartnett ("Pearl Harbor") and Lucy Liu ("Charlie's Angels") are already set to star in the picture, being directed by Paul McGuigan ("Wicker Park").

Kingsley will start work on the project after he finishes his assignment as Fagan in Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski's adaptation of Charles Dickens' "Oliver Twist."
