LOS ANGELES, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- A woman accused of stalking movie star Catherine Zeta-Jones has pleaded innocent at her arraignment in Los Angeles, E! Online reported Thursday.

Dawnette Knight is accused in a 25-felony count charge of stalking and threatening the "Chicago" star.

Richard Herman, Knight's lawyer, said he wants his client to be released from prison on her own recognizance next week. Knight has been held in jail since her June 3 arrest.

"We all know that she's no threat to anyone. It's real hard to live in L.A. and stalk somebody who lives in Bermuda. So it just doesn't make any sense at all," he said.

Knight is being held on $1 million bail. Her trial is set for Nov. 10.

Earlier, Knight tried to apologize to Zeta-Jones, saying she was hopelessly obsessed with the Welsh star's husband, Michael Douglas.

Zeta-Jones testified how terrified she had been by letters threatening to wipe her out like other celebrity murder victims Sharon Tate, John F. Kennedy or Nicole Brown Simpson.
