Fleetwood introduces new band

LOS ANGELES, Del., Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Mick Fleetwood needs more than just Fleetwood Mac to occupy his time these days.

The drummer and co-founder of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group has just launched a new project, the Mick Fleetwood Band, with its debut album "Something Big." Fleetwood says it won't jeopardize his work with Fleetwood Mac, but it will help him keep his chops sharp during that band's down time.

"I don't like to not be busy," explains Fleetwood, who finished a lengthy world tour with Fleetwood Mac in mid-September. "I have to have musicians around me. I formed the Mick Fleetwood Band to be an onward going project and also have it be totally able to work in and around things that Fleetwood Mac do."

"Something Big" Big is the first release on Fleetwood's own label, TallMan Records. He also launched Mick Fleetwood Private Cellar Wine earlier this month.
