SEATTLE, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- A judge in Seattle has ruled in the lawsuit concerning the estate of the late rocker Jimi Hendrix.
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported Saturday the ruling means Hendrix's brother, Leon, won't get a share of his brother's estate and his stepsister and cousin will lose some control of the estate.
Jimi Hendrix died of a drug overdose in 1970, and although he was close to his mother's family growing up after his father divorced, since his mother died before him, his entire estate went to his father because he had no will.
Janie Hendrix, adopted by Jimi Hendrix's father, Al, and her cousin, Robert Hendrix, now control the estate valued at $80 million.
Judge Jeffrey Ramsdell said Janie Hendrix and Robert Hendrix badly mismanaged trust funds and ordered the two removed from the trusts the late Al Hendrix established.
Other family members named in Al Hendrix's will are beneficiaries from the trusts.
