NEW YORK, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- "The View" co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck and husband Washington Redskins quarterback Tim Hasselbeck are expecting their first child next spring.
Hasselbeck announced on Thursday's episode of the talk show that she is 13-and-a-half weeks pregnant, news that she said was a surprise to her and her husband of two years, E! Online reported Friday.
Hasselbeck made her announcement during the show's "Hot Topics" segment when Barbara Walters asked the audience to guess which of the cohosts was pregnant.
After a round of "Barbara" chants, Hasselbeck gave her news.
"I'm nauseous, but I'm fine with that because it's all for a good cause," Hasselbeck said.
The couple has decided not to find out the sex of their child until he or she is born in late March or early April, E! Online said.
Hasselbeck joined "The View" last November after Lisa Ling left.
