Billy Joel gets star on Walk of Fame

HOLLYWOOD, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Billy Joel, a musician for decades, had his name added Monday to the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of the Pantages Theatre on Hollywood Blvd.

The Piano Man's Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, "Movin' Out," had opened at the Pantages Theatre and will play there through Oct. 31, reported the syndicated television show "Entertainment Tonight."

A trained classical pianist, Joel released his first album, "Cold Spring Harbor," in 1972 and created a series of hits such as "Allentown" and "Piano Man."

He has also been a big contributor to philanthropic causes.
