STUDIO CITY, Calif., Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Britney Spears reportedly married Kevin Federline in a small, secret ceremony in California, a month before well-publicized nuptials were set to occur.
Spears and Federline married at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Studio City, Calif., home of a tailor who designed the groom's tuxedo, E! Online reported Monday.
The hush-hush ceremony, attended by 20 family members, reportedly was planned with few people's knowledge, including no input from Spears' mom, Lynne.
Spears reportedly wore a strapless white dress by Monique L'Huillier, veil and tiara. She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses, while her five bridesmaids and maid of honor wore burgundy dresses and carried red roses.
Saturday's ceremony occurred after months of media speculation about a fall wedding in Spears' native Louisiana or in Los Angeles. Invitations for an Oct. 16 wedding reportedly went out last week, E! Online said.
Oct. 16 now reportedly will be reserved for a celebration party in the couple's honor.
The wedding comes nine months after the pop star's impromptu Las Vegas ceremony last January to hometown friend Jason Alexander. That marriage was annulled after 55 hours.
