Dave Chappelle behind 'Block Party'

NEW YORK, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- The weekend concert event at New York City's Fort Greene neighborhood dubbed "Block Party," will appear as a concert film and documentary.

The event was conceived by comedian Dave Chappelle and director Michel Gondry captured the event featuring performances by the Roots, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, Jill Scott and the reunited Fugees for a concert film and documentary due out next year, reported Billboard.com Monday.

Hundreds of fans braved the chilly temperatures and rain evening at the intersection of Quincy and Downing Streets in Brooklyn, a location that had been kept secret.

Those attending the event got tickets via the Internet and were transported to the site from a site in Chinatown.
