Allison Janney wins Emmy for 'West Wing'

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Allison Janney won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the 56th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles Sunday.

Janney won for her performance as press secretary C.J. Cregg on NBC's White House drama "The West Wing." It was her fourth Emmy in the series' five years on the air.

In the first two seasons, Janney won Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She won for lead actress during the show's third season, and was nominated for lead actress last year.
