CHICAGO, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- A U.S. Grandparent's Day survey found actor Haley Joel Osment of "The Sixth Sense" and "Pay it Forward" the first choice for a celebrity grandson.

The survey, by the Bankers Life and Casualty Co. to commemorate the Sunday observance of Grandparents Day, found 49 percent of respondents said they would most like to have Van Dyke" class="tpstyle">Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore as their grandparents.

The pairing of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O' Connor and actor Anthony Hopkins was chosen by 15 percent of respondents. Ten percent chose the unlikely pair of rocker Ozzy Osbourne and actress Angela Lansbury.

Nearly 45 percent of those participating in the survey said "Sound of Music Star" Julie Andrews was the celebrity that aged most gracefully, while 20 percent thought Paul Newman aged gracefully. Hardly anyone thought comedienne Joan Rivers or rock and roller Keith Richards were aging gracefully.

Bankers polled 481 males and 519 females via eNation. The survey has an error margin of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
