LOS ANGELES, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- CBS has signed a deal with eBay to create a separate page on the Internet auction site devoted to CBS shows and personalties, Daily Variety said Friday.
CBS marketing executive George Schweitzer told the paper the deal is the first comprehensive arrangement between the online auction site and a TV network.
"This is the first time anyone has done a large partnership with eBay to promote multiple shows," said Schweitzer. "We think this can help generate excitement and attraction for our premiere week."
In an attempt to extend brand awareness for CBS shows, the network will offer for sale such items as tickets to the filming of the 100th episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," dinner with Rupert or dancing lessons from Big Tom of "Survivor: All Stars," a tour of the "Big Brother" house or breakfast with "Early Show" weatherman Dave Price.
Visitors to the site will also get a chance to bid on a pair of sunglasses worn by David Caruso in "CSI: Miami" and a gavel signed by stars of "Judging Amy."
