"(We) created a dramatic framework for 'The Sleeping Beauty' ballet, and did our best to deepen the tempers of its characters, first of all Aurora and prince Desire. We strove to make this story befitting the great music of Tchaikovsky. There are even avant-garde elements in our production but they do not destroy this ballet but, as we hope, enrich it," Kasatkina said.

The Russian theater company, which annually performs in Cannes, will perform "The Nutcracker" Saturday for the festival's closing ceremony.
