LOS ANGELES, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Actor David Schwimmer will make his directorial debut with "Run, Fat Boy, Run," the former "Friends" star's first gig since the sitcom ended last season.
"I've been waiting for the right feature comedy to direct and am so happy to have found 'Run, Fat Boy, Run.' (The) script was simply too funny and smart to put down," Schwimmer told Empire magazine's Web site Friday.
The independent film centers on an overweight man who, after leaving his fiancee at the altar, runs the New York Marathon in an attempt to win back his beloved from a new, slimmer, man.
Schwimmer has some directing practice under his belt, having been behind the camera for a few "Friends" episodes and for ex-castmate Matt Leblanc's spin-off show, "Joey."
