Phil Collins not kidding about goodbye

ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Despite its tongue-in-cheek title, Phil Collins promises that his First Final Farewell Tour really is goodbye.

"It is the last tour -- I mean, without a doubt," says Collins, the former Genesis member who's also had a long solo career with hits such as "In the Air Tonight," "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)," "Separate Lives" and "Another Day in Paradise."

"I will continue to do the odd show, so I'm not stopping performing. But certainly no more rock 'n' roll tours. In terms of packing the suitcase, I'm done with that."

Collins, a British native who now resides in Switzerland with his third wife, kicks off the North American leg of the tour on Thursday in Anaheim, Calif. He releases "Love Songs: A Compilation Old and New" Sept. 28 and is working on songs for the Broadway adaptation of Walt Disney's "Tarzan."
