LOS ANGELES, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Comedian Rodney Dangerfield was admitted Tuesday to University of California at Los Angeles Medical Center for heart-valve replacement surgery.
The surgery will be performed by Dr. Hillel Laks. The 82-year-old Dangerfield was originally scheduled to undergo the valve job in May 2003, but the surgery was postponed to allow him to recuperate from a brain operation done in April 2003 to improve his body's blood flow, e!online reported.
In 1992, Dangerfield had surgery for an abdominal aortic aneurysm and in 2000, he had double-bypass heart surgery.
In 2001, he suffered a heart attack, but no surgery was required.
The star of "Caddyshack," "Easy Money" "Back to School" and "Little Nicky" is expected to do well, according to Dangerfield's representative Kevin Sasaki.
