SAN ANTONIO, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Clear Channel Radio is auctioning 43 celebrity-signed guitars with proceeds going to relief effects in areas affected by Hurricane Charley in Florida.

The online auction via the Web site StormAid.com runs until Sept. 20 at 3 p.m.

Guitars are autographed by Robert Plant, George Thorogood, Tom Petty, Sammy Hagar, Stone Temple Pilots, Kenny Rogers, Wynonna Judd, The Strokes, Linkin Park, Britney Spears and many other artists and celebrities.

"Clear Channel Radio is participating in local relief efforts and holding a variety of local fundraisers across the country to aid Florida hurricane victims," John Hogan, president and chief executive officer of Clear Channel Radio, said in a statement. "Our Florida radio stations have been especially active. They were broadcasting around the clock before, during and after the hurricane, and are participating in and promoting ongoing relief efforts."

He said the auction is another way for individuals to support those in need as result of the hurricane, adding, "At the same time, the guitars are great pieces of memorabilia for any music fan."
