Amy Winehouse slams fellow musicians

LONDON, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- New British music act Amy Winehouse is gaining a reputation as a loudmouth after criticizing fellow, and more popular, musicians, including Madonna and Dido.

Winehouse, whose jazz tinged hip hop debut album "Frank" has sold 200,000 copies, fearlessly blasted musical acts far more famous than she is, Britain's Mirror said Thursday.

Of Madonna, the 20-year-old London native said: "She's an old lady. She can't shock any more. She should get a nice band, just stand in front of them and (expletive) sing," Winehouse said.

Winehouse had plenty to say about Dido, who has sold 18 million albums.

"Kids listening to her and thinking, 'I want to be like Dido' make me want to vomit," Winehouse said.

She even had a comment about Britney Spears, who has sold 40 million albums.

"I wish her luck with her marriage as I hope it stops her going into the studio," she said.

Winehouse was just as frank about her own sour grapes.

"I'm slightly bitter because I haven't sold as many albums as them," she said.
