Costumes will be displayed with original concept sketches, as well as photographs and film clips featuring actors in the costumes.

The exhibition is being presented in association with the Costume Designers Guild, and the academy is publishing a full-color, 125-page companion catalogue.

The academy will also present a four-part seminar on costume design beginning Sept. 14. "Fifty Designers/Fifty Costumes: Concept to Character" -- which will run from Sept. 10 through Dec. 5 -- is free and open to the public.
