Murphy: 'Black Book' realistic comedy

NEW YORK, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Hollywood star Brittany Murphy says she relished working on "Little Black Book" because it wasn't standard,

romantic comedy fluff.

In the movie opening Friday, the "Clueless" and "Don't Say a Word" actress plays Stacy, a reality TV producer who gets more than she bargains for when she snoops into her handsome boyfriend's romantic past.

"That's what I loved most about it -- that it was real," the actress said in New York recently. "That I saw a great reality, and I loved that all the characters have humongous flaws. I love that."

She added: "I love that Stacy's a normal, cool

girl. She's 'every-girl' to me. ... She's got her life together, or she believes she does. She believes very

heavily in control. She just goes too far. Way too far."

Kathy Bates, Holly Hunter and Ron Livingston co-star in "Little Black Book."
