LOS ANGELES, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- The Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter denies he is responsible for the bruises on ex-girlfriend Paris Hilton's arm and lip, it was reported Wednesday.
Rumors Carter injured Hilton began after the star of Fox's "The Simple Life," was seen in Los Angeles last week sporting new bruises, World Entertainment News Network said.
The musician already had issued a statement through attorney Marty Singer denying the claims, but decided to reinforce the message himself.
"If they need the media attention, let them do their thing. My family, friends and fans know that this is not my character and I would never hurt anyone that I cared for or do anything like the malicious things they are claiming. The truth will come out," Carter said on U.S. TV's "Entertainment Tonight."
