Damon said he must get in shape to play the cycling superstar.
"That would be a whole new level," Damon said of the fitness required for the role.
Armstrong is famous for recovering from testicular cancer and subsequently winning the Tour de France for a record six consecutive times, from 1999 to 2004.
Damon currently can be seen in "The Bourne Supremacy."
