LOS ANGELES, July 19 (UPI) -- Actor Brent Spiner, who played Lt. Cmdr. Data in the syndicated "Star Trek: The Next Generation," will appear in UPN's "Enterprise."
The Hollywood Reporter said Monday Spiner would play the great-great-grandfather of Dr. Noonien Soong, the creator of Data in three episodes of "Enterprise."
Spiner, who has also appeared in several "Sar Trek" movies, previously played Dr. Soong in an episode of "Next Generation."
While there has been speculation William Shatner, who played Capt. James T. Kirk in the original TV series may also make an appearance on "Enterprise," sources told the Reporter there are no immediate plans for a Shatner guest appearance.
"Enterprise," originally scheduled for 9 p.m. Fridays in the fall, will now air at 8 p.m. Fridays.
