Music video impressed Jerry Bruckheimer

NEW YORK, July 17 (UPI) -- U.S. movie producer Jerry Bruckheimer says he was so impressed by a 1995 music video by Antoine Fuqua he chose him to direct for "King Arthur."

"I just think he's a really gifted director," Bruckheimer told United Press International. "I loved what he did in 'Training Day.' He did a (music) video for us, before he was doing features. I just thought he was a gifted director and I've been following his career and I just knew he could handle a big show."

Bruckheimer said he also had good feelings about the actors he hired to to play heroes Arthur and Guinevere in his history-based version of the popular tale.

"When I read the script, I thought Clive Owen would be an interesting choice (for Arthur,)" Bruckheimer said. "We had used Keira Knightley in 'Pirates of the Caribbean,' and we showed Antoine a couple of scenes from 'Pirates'... and he fell in love with her. There was a really interesting chemistry

between the two of them."

"King Arthur" is in theaters now.
