Holly Deveaux to play Casey Anthony
NEW YORK, July 16 (UPI) -- The New York Friars Club has announced plans to honor Oscar-winning actress Shirley Jones.
Jones won the suporting actress Oscar for her performance as Lulu Baines in the 1960 drama "Elmer Gantry." She also starred in such Hollywood classics as "Carousel," "The Music Man" and "Oklahoma," and the '70s ABC comedy "The Partridge Family."
She is currently starring on Broadway with her son, Patrick Cassidy, in a revival of the musical "42nd Street."
The Friars Club salute to Jones will mark the club's 100th birthday. Jones joins a list of honorees that includes Jack Benny, Milton Berle, Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne.
The club will salute Jones Monday with an all-star lineup of celebrities including Julie Budd, Roberta Peters, Freddie Roman and Dennis Farina.
Jones' husband, comic Marty Ingels, said he was impressed with the roster.
"I'm the only one invited I never heard of," Ingels said.
