The DGA awards will be presented just four days after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announces the nominees for the 77th Annual Academy Awards.

The DGA will announce its feature film nominees on Jan. 6, then announce its TV nominees on Jan. 10.

The DGA awards have been a reliable predictor of the eventual winner of the Oscar for directing, with the DGA winner taking the Oscar in 49 of the 55 years in which the DGA has presented its awards.

The WGA will announce its feature film nominees on Jan. 13.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has scheduled the Golden Globe Awards for Jan. 16, the day after ballots are due at the motion picture academy for Oscar nominations. The Screen Actors Guild will hold its awards ceremony on Feb. 5, and the Academy Awards are scheduled for Feb. 27.
