PILTON, England, June 28 (UPI) -- The father of the drummer from the band Muse died suddenly following the band's Monday headlining performance at the Glastonbury Festival in England.
"It is with great sadness that we must announce that Bill Howard, father of Muse drummer Dominic, died earlier today (June 28) at the Glastonbury Festival, a short time after the band's headlining set," said a statement issued to NME.COM.
The statement said: "Howard collapsed at 1:15 a.m. and died shortly after. Police are not treating the death as suspicious. In this dreadfully difficult time, we request that the privacy of Dom's family and friends is respected. Our sincere and heartfelt sympathy extends to Dominic and the Howard family."
Muse cancelled its Wednesday show in Bergamo, Italy, and decisions on other shows were pending.
