LOS ANGELES, June 25 (UPI) -- Michael Chiklis appears set to play Thing in the upcoming movie adapation of Marvel Comics' "The Fanstic Four," Daily Variety reported Friday.
The paper said 20th Century Fox wanted to hold off announcing any casting decisions until it could announce all four lead actors simultaneously, but Marvel's Avi Arad let the cat out of the bag.

Chiklis is best-known for his Emmy-winning performance as Vic Mackey on the F/X channel cop series "The Shield."
"The Fanstic Four," directed by Tim Story of "Barbershop," is set to begin filming in late August or early September.
