LOS ANGELES, June 18 (UPI) -- A California woman has pleaded innocent to stalking and threatening actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, E! Online said Friday.
Dawnette Knight was arrested at her Beverly Hills apartment June 3, following a four-month investigation during which Knight allegedly harassed the 34-year-old "Chicago" beauty with "numerous threatening letters and phone calls," the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.
Knight has been charged with one count of stalking and 25 counts of making terrorist threats. However, the 33-year-old woman who claims to have had a long-term affair with the actress' 59-year-old husband, "Fatal Attraction" star Michael Douglas, pleaded innocent to the charges.
She is being held in jail on $1 million bail, E! Online said.
Knight is scheduled to return to court June 29 for a
preliminary hearing.
If convicted, she could face up to 19 years in jail, the entertainment news Web site said.
