LOS ANGELES, June 18 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor Ben Stiller accidentally whacked wife Christine Taylor in the face on the set of their new comedy "Dodgeball," Zap2it.com said Friday.

"I hit her in the face a couple of times, which was not good. That actually affected our relationship for like a week," Stiller admitted. "There's just no way not to get upset with somebody after you've done that."

"He got me square on the cheek and the ear. I had red speckles on my face," Taylor added. "(But) when you get hit, the pain isn't as much as the shame. You are mortified. You don't want people to come over and you don't want pity."

Fortunately, the pretty blonde actress was not seriously injured on the set of the sports comedy.

The three movie cameras Stiller hit with wayward dodge balls were not so lucky, however. All three expensive machines were put out of commission, Zap2it.com said.

"Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" opens Friday.
