Jet's U.S. tour still on

MELBOURNE, June 18 (UPI) -- The Australian band Jet plans to tour the United States in July in spite of a "serious family illness," Net Music Countdown reports.

The band cut an Australian tour short in May and then abruptly pulled out of the Glastonbury Music Festival on June 25 and a German show the next day. Jet did make six scheduled appearances in Britain and Ireland earlier this month.

Jet is scheduled to kick off a visit to the United States and Canada with a performance July 1 in Niagara Falls, N.Y., winding up on July 27 at San Francisco's Fillmore. So far, Net Music Countdown, says, those dates stand.
