'Bachelor' couple calls it quits

LOS ANGELES, June 18 (UPI) -- Another match made on TV appears to have broken up with reality TV stars Jesse Palmer and Jessica Bowlin calling it quits, E! Online reported Friday.

A representative for Telepictures Productions, which supervises the ABC reality series, "The Bachelor," confirmed the split.

The couple announced the end of their made-for-TV romance on the Hollywood TV news program, "Extra," Thursday.

"Jessica and I shared an incredible romantic journey on the show that began with a friendship that remains strong today," explained the backup quarterback for the New York Giants. "We simply realized that, individually, our next steps take us in different directions."

"With too much distance and too little time, these were not ideal circumstances in which to start a relationship," added Bowlin, a law student. "Jesse is a great guy and has a wonderful family. Who knows what the future holds?"

So far, all of the couples brought together on "The Bachelor" have broken up, while the pairs who met on "The Bachelorette" remain together.
