NEW YORK, June 10 (UPI) -- Pop diva Britney Spears is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery in New York following an injury while taping a music video.

Spears had surgery Wednesday on a bum knee that has plagued her for months and is the result of an old dance injury, E! Online reported Thursday.

Spears' latest trouble occurred late Tuesday when she was taping a music video for "Outrageous," the fourth single from "In The Zone," under the tracks of the L train in the New York City borough of Queens.

"She was immediately taken to a local hospital where she received an MRI scan. It was discovered by the doctors on call that she has floating cartilage in her knee," said a statement from Jive Records.

There was no word on how long Spears would be out of commission.

Spears' Onyx Hotel world tour, which began in March, is set to resume June 22 in Hartford, Conn.
