NEW YORK, June 9 (UPI) -- Kathy Hilton, mom to Paris and Nicky and hotel empire heiress, is searching for socialite wannabes whom she can mentor for a new U.S. reality show.

Hilton needs 14 men and women to take under her wing as she introduces them to important people and uses her social status to transform their lives for an NBC series titled "The Hilton Project," Gawker reported Wednesday.

The contestants will compete in a number of feats, after which Hilton will choose a winner who will receive an exclusive Manhattan home, a high profile job and connections to some of the world's most influential people.

Casting information is listed at NBC's Web site.

Hilton's daughter, Paris, already has found reality TV fame with the Fox TV hit series "The Simple Life."

Hilton's family founded the worldwide Hilton hotel chain.
