Austin Powers actor challenges marriage

SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 8 (UPI) -- Verne Troyer, the actor who played Mini-Me in Austin Powers movies, has filed a court challenge, denying a model's claim that he married her.

The World Entertainment News Network reported Tuesday the 32-inch tall actor is seeking an annulment from five-foot-six-inch tall Genevieve Gallen.

Troyer said the model fabricated the wedding for financial gain.

"There's no valid marriage," said Troyer's lawyer, Fred Silberberg. "That's why we're asking for an annulment."

Silverberg said he would seek a motion to deny Gallen's request for Troyer's financial information in Los Angeles County Superior Court, in Santa Monica, Calif., June 17.

It was reported last summer that Troyer and Gallen had become engaged, but Silberberg denied the two ever made "formal wedding plans."
