Metallica to release album

HOLLYWOOD, June 7 (UPI) -- Metallica's record label is releasing an album of remixes to complement the July 9 U.S. opening of a documentary on the metal band.

Elektra will release the album, "Some Kind of Monster," two days after the documentary of the same name opens in theaters, Billboard.com reported Monday.

The eight-track album features two versions of the song from which the film takes its name, one drawn from the 2003 album "St. Anger," plus an edit by producer Bob Rock.

It also includes six live tracks recorded June 11, 2003, in Paris: "The Four Horsemen," "Damage, Inc.," "Leper Messiah," "Motorbreath," "Ride the Lightning" and "Hit the Lights."

Limited editions of the album will bundled with a compressed T-shirt, emblazoned with the film's poster art.
