John Cleese joins 'Guys' cast

June 7, 2004 at 2:36 PM

LOS ANGELES, June 7 (UPI) -- John Cleese has joined the cast of "Dave Barry's Complete Guide to Guys," Daily Variety reported Monday.

The movie is adapted from columnist Dave Barry's novel of the same name. The screenplay is by Jeff Arch, who wrote the Disney feature "Iron Will," and co-wrote "Sleepless in Seattle" with Nora Ehpron and David Ward. Arch will also direct "Guide to Guys," in his feature directing debut.

Cleese will play an expert who recounts the history of a couple from the beginning of time until present day, in an attempt to explain male behavior. Plans call for cameo appearances by such guys as former football star Dan Marino and basketball maven Dick Vitale.
