'Fahrenheit 9/11' trailer on film Web site

LOS ANGELES, June 3 (UPI) -- The trailer for "Fahrenheit 9/11" has debuted on the movie's Web site, showing clips of U.S. President Bush spliced with Iraq war images.

The trailer also will begin showing in U.S. theaters Friday in advance of the film's June 25 release, the BBC reported Thursday.

The film, which criticizes the president's handling of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and alleges ties between the Bush family and Osama Bin Laden, garnered publicity when Disney refused to distribute the movie.

Miramax heads Bob and Harvey Weinstein subsequently made a distribution deal with two outside companies.

The film won the prestigious Palme d'Or award at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

Michael Moore, who made the film, has made his anti-Bush sentiments clear.

"I want to make sure if I do nothing else for the rest of this year that those who died in Iraq have not died in vain," he said, adding he hopes all Americans see the film before voting in the presidential election.
