HOLLYWOOD, May 30 (UPI) -- Gwyneth Paltrow, who just gave birth to a girl, is set to produce and star in a movie about German screen actress Marlene Dietrich.

Daily Variety says the DreamWorks studio has secured Dietrich's memoir. Dietrich's grandson, Peter Riva, who is also an actor, has approved of the selection of Paltrow.

(She) "has the stillness required in an aristocrat, and the ability to plumb the depths of character without too much emotion, which was Marlene's trademark," he said.

Dietrich, who starred in films such as "The Blue Angel," was the highest-paid actress in pre-World War II Hollywood, the Melbourne Herald Sun reported. She died in 1992 at the age of 90.
