LOS ANGELES, May 27 (UPI) -- DreamWorks co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg will be honored for excellence in filmmaking at Cinema Expo International in Amsterdam next month.
CEI is Europe's largest motion picture theater industry trade convention, attracting more than 1,200 industry professionals annually. The event showcases new developments in movie exhibition technology, concessions and other theater services.
Katzenberg ran Disney's animation division when the studio enjoyed such hits as "The Little Mermaid" and "Beauty and the Beast." At DreamWorks, he has produced such animated hits as "Chicken Run," "Shrek" and "Shrek 2."
He joins a list of past winners that includes Wolfgang Petersen, Ivan Reitman and Joel Silver.
The expo will be held from June 21-24 at the Amsterdam RAI International Exhibition and Congress Center.
