LOS ANGELES, May 20 (UPI) -- "Shrek 2" producers have insulted Rupert Everett by saying the egotistical prince he voices in the animated Hollywood film is based on the real-life actor.
Everett is not pleased with comparisons between himself and the villainous prince who sets out to steal Princess Fiona from the film's star, BBC Radio One reported Thursday.
"That's not a very nice thing to say is it? Let's just analyze for a minute, who is Prince Charming? He's a nasty, whiney, self-obsessed jerk," Everett said.
"I don't know if there's a lot of me in Prince Charming. I guess I'm self obsessed, yes. But that's not very nice of the producers to say that though."
