LOS ANGELES, May 20 (UPI) -- A botched manicure caused Paula Abdul to have her thumbnail surgically removed and now the singer and "American Idol" judge may sue.
Abdul reportedly is planning to file a lawsuit against the nail salon where the incident occurred, TVGuide.com reported Thursday, claiming she almost lost her entire thumb.

An eyewitness, however, said she overheard Abdul praise the manicurist after the nail job.
"You have a really great energy today and, of course, you look amazing," the witness said, echoing Abdul's words.
