Vanessa Marcil partial to 'GH' cast

NEW YORK, May 19 (UPI) -- Former U.S. soap star Vanessa Marcil admitted she may cheer more for her former "General Hospital" cast when she hosts the Daytime Emmy Awards.

"It will be hard to contain my glee when I'm speaking of the people of 'GH' or when the 'GH' people win," Marcil said in Wednesday's New York Post about Friday's awards show.

The actress, who left the soap business after winning last year's best actress Emmy, said she still gets her daytime drama fix by taping her favorites.

"I watch in one big block after my son goes to bed," Marcil said. "'GH' is the most realistic daytime show there is. 'Passions' is the most fun."

"Young and the Restless" leads the pack with 16 overall nominations, with "General Hospital" boasting eight nominations in top categories.

Marcil currently stars in NBC's hit drama, "Las Vegas."

The awards show will air live on NBC from New York's Radio City Music Hall.
